In regards to the care and cleaning of UGG® Australia footwear, we would like to set forth the following guidelines for our sheepskin footwear.

DO NOT APPLY CLEANER & CONDITIONER DIRECTLY ONTO SHEEPSKIN FOOTWEAR

• Hand wash only. DO NOT use a washing machine.
• Moisten sheepskin footwear with clean, cold water.
• Wet entire boot when cleaning to ensure equal drying or you could end up with visible water lines.
• Dilute Cleaner & Conditioner with ½ water and ½ Cleaner & Conditioner.
• Apply a small amount of diluted Cleaner & Conditioner to a clean wet sponge. DO NOT apply Cleaner & Conditioner directly onto footwear.
• Gently scrub to clean entire area. Sheepskin has a delicate surface, which can be damaged if scrubbed aggressively, or with an undiluted concentration.
• Rinse clean in clean, cold water; wring out excess water; lightly stuff with paper towels to hold shape; allow to dry naturally and slowly. DO NOT dry in direct heat or sunlight.
• Once footwear is dry, lightly brush with a very soft suede/nubuck brush in one direction only.
• Use a mixture of 2 tsp. baking soda and 2 tsp. corn flour to deodorize and soften the inside of the boots. If you wish, you can add a few drops of an essential oil to create a sweet scent. Shake the mixture into the boots and let it stand overnight. Shake the excess out the next day.

To help prevent initial staining of sheepskin footwear, we recommend using the Water & Stain Repellent as directed on the bottle prior to wearing.

• Spray the sheepskin surface evenly until it appears wet, but not soaked.
• Let the boots dry naturally for at least 24 hours. DO NOT dry in direct heat or sunlight.
• Lightly brush in one direction with a very soft bristle suede/nubuck brush to raise the nap and natural tracking.
• Please note that when properly used, UGG Australia Water & Stain Repellent with a suede/nubuck brush will help to raise the nap and natural tracking.

Edwin R. Baeseman was born in Rib Falls, Wisconsin, on October 6, 1904, the son of Otto Baeseman and Emma Laumer Baeseman. He arrived ten minutes earlier than his twin brother, Marvin and he never let Marvin forget that he was "Older and Wiser".

One day in the fall of 1933, on his way to work at the Ice and Fuel, Eddie Baeseman stopped to visit his brother-in-law, Eric Behnke, in his shoe repair shop on Second Avenue. While he was there, he heard several farmers come in and ask for lumberman's rubber soles, which Eric didn't carry.

An idea was born that afternoon, and he asked Eric if he would allow Eddie to put in six pairs of Lumberman's soles -- the kind that were sewed onto the leather tops. He got the go-ahead sign, so he ordered some. His first invoice from the Hood Rubber Company was dated December 1, 19331 the first invoice from the Jung Shoe Company for shoes was dated December 11, 1933, and from Red Wing Shoe Company, he received his first shipment of shoes on February 16, 1934.

By this time, he needed more room for his stock, so he moved into a little building next door, at 207 S. Second Avenue in June, 1934, and that is when the firm of Baeseman Brothers officially began, with Marvin Baeseman (Eddie's twin brother) becoming a partner and acting as "store keeper", while Eddie worked to provide "'Capital".

By October of 1934, they needed more room, and moved to 113 Clinton Street. In August, 1937, they moved to larger quarters at 109 Clinton Street. After moving to the Clinton Street area, they added a shoe rep-air shop, and Marvin became an expert shoe repairman. Their next move was to 119 Clinton Street in April of 1943. After purchasing that building, they built additions onto it twice to give more room.

In 1946 Eddie began working in the store full time, and that fall they added the Army Surplus line of merchandise, which right after the war was in great demand. That led to jackets, then overalls, and so on, until they had a complete line of work clothing with good quality name brands.

Soon both Eddie’s and Marvin’s wives were recruited to lend a hand with the store.
In 1957 they felt the familiar pinch of growing pains, and found it necessary to move again. This time to 711 North Third Avenue. Upon entering the newly finished building just before moving in, Eddie and Marvin were heard to groan, "Oh, my -- how are we ever going to buy enough stock to fill this place?" They could have saved the worry, because in six months it was filled to capacity.

The more established a brand is, the pricier the pair of shoes would be.

#4 Designer cost

Every pair of shoes comes from a talented individual who design them. The cost of manpower is also included in the price of a pair of shoes.
